Livigno has long been known for its duty free prices, a privilege gained circa 1840 because of its isolation and poverty. Until the late 1950’s there was no road through to Livigno during the winter months, and as a result, it was completely cut off from the outside world for five months every year.

Unlike many other tax or duty free ‘bargains’ elsewhere, duty free in Livigno can mean some superb deals. Here are some sample prices from the Co-op in the centre of Livigno. There are more than 250 shops in the resort, and it isn’t just alcohol and tobacco that is duty free. There are an abundance of shops selling clothing, electronics, footwear, cosmetics etc., including famous brands such as Max Mara, Benetton, Timberland and much, much more.

For visitors planning to drive to Livigno, fuel is also extremely cheap with diesel costing about €1.05 per litre and petrol €1.10 per litre.

Emirates Airways have just announced that they will be adding a THIRD daily flight from Cape Town to Dubai! This is excellent news as this not only increases availabilities BUT is also bound to keep a check on fares.  In total now there are 7 daily flights to Dubai out South Africa which is the highest for any airline to 1 destination out of South Africa. TRAVEL WITH US TO LIVIGNO 

Supported by a solid experience in the public transports, Livigno Express are launching a new service to travel easily to Livigno and other Alta Valtellina mountain resorts.
It is a new system: fast, simple and effective. Collections, specifically to Livigno, are at the Bus terminals  at Terminal 1, Malpensa Airport and the scheduled service departs at 12h00 or 16h00 on a Saturday ( and 13h00 on all other days ). The duration is approx. 4½ hours. The departure from Livigno on a Saturday morning is at 05h00 or 09h00 ( and 07h00 on all other days ) from the Central Bus Terminal.
